HOW TO SEND ME YOUR FIRST CATALOGUE

Please note, I edit using the newest version of LR in Adobe Creative Cloud Suite. Please ensure you are using an up to date version of LR.

• Import your RAW files into LR and make sure on import you tick the box that says BUILD SMART PREVIEWS as this is what enables me to work remotely on your images without sending full RAWS to me.
  

• Apply your base presets (colour and b&w ) to a couple of images so I can save them as your presets my end. You can also flag or mark any you wish to be in black and white at this point if you want control over this. You can also send the presets direct to me as .xmp files if you prefer.
  

• If you sent any previews to your clients then please rate/flag/mark these so I can use them as a guide but also not edit over the top by mistake if I’m syncing at any point.
  

• Select all images from the gallery.
  

• Go to FILE > EXPORT AS CATALOG.
  

• Give the Catalog a name such as the names of the couple. Make sure ONLY the box "BUILD / INCLUDE SMART PREVIEWS" is selected when it pops up.
  

• Wait until the progress bar in LR has fully completed. 
  

• Quit Lightroom

Now you’re ready to send your exported Lightroom cataglogue to me. You can send via Wetransfer, Filemail or Dropbox.

• If you use Dropbox, please create and name a dropbox folder using your own photography name. You can then use this folder for all future catalogues you send me and just give me shared access.
  

• Find the Lr catalogue you’ve created,  there will be 2 or 3 files including .lrcat and smartpreviews.lrdata.  Right click and compress before sending over.

• Please include your deadline so I can put it straight in my diary.
